11/12/12 vs. NAU | W 92-54
After an off-season of rapt anticipation among fans and pundits, the Rebels gave a hint of the reality behind the hype. Much during squad's 92-54 trouncing of Northern Arizona on Nov. 12 was as advertised: Anthony Marshall looked comfortable at point guard, Katin Reinhardt shot the ball from Pioche and didn't apologize, and Anthony Bennett was the most overpowering force on the floor. Bennett led the Rebels with 22 points, and Bryce Dejean-Jones came back from a preseason broken hand to score 15. Perhaps the most impressive performance, though, was turned in by the 18,187 fans at the Thomas & Mack Center … on a Monday … against Northern Arizona. It was the largest opening-game crowd in UNLV history.
