In the disposable city, one building was built to last. In a tourist town, one place was created for us. In a culture in search of itself, one arena showed us the way home. We were rugged individualists. But in this house, we came together.
2/25/12 vs. Air Force | W 68-58
The Rebels dominated Air Force for much of the game, but were unable to put the Falcons away. A near-scuffle involving UNLV senior center Brice Massamba and the Falcons bench gave the Rebels the final push they needed, and a 7-0 run sealed the victory. As Mountain West play entered its final week, UNLV had worked its way back into a tie with New Mexico and San Diego State atop the standings. It wasn't glamorous—but, then, games against the grind-it-out Falcons rarely are.
